As an EMV Certification Analyst, you serve as the critical gateway between code and commerce. You will be responsible for ensuring that our cutting-edge payment solutions—spanning hardware, software, and gateways—meet the rigorous standards of global acquirers and card brands. Whether you are starting your career in fintech or are a seasoned expert in L3 certifications, you will work hands-on with the latest technology to ensure our deployments are flawless, secure, and compliant.
What You’ll Do
- Execute Certification Cycles: Perform EMV Level-3 payment application testing with various US and international acquirers.
- Hardware Validation: Conduct functional testing on a variety of payment hardware terminals, including Verifone, Ingenico, Pax, and Equinox/Hypercom, as well as Android or Linux-based proprietary devices.
- Test Planning & Strategy: Collaborate with the team to design comprehensive test plans that address software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, and usability.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Analyze transaction logs and gateway messaging requirements (including ISO specifications) to identify the root cause of operating errors and collaborate with developers on fixes.+2
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and document all test activities to ensure traceability to requirements, serving as a gatekeeper for code promotions and production quality.+1
- Continuous Improvement: Help establish automated or repeatable test beds to accelerate our certification timelines and improve overall software quality.
Who You Are
- The background: You possess a 4-year College Degree (BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field) OR have 1+ years of experience in a technology/QA position.
- The location: You are local to the Irvine, CA area and ready to work onsite to collaborate directly with our engineering and hardware teams.
- The problem solver: You have high problem sensitivity—you can tell when something is wrong before it breaks and use logic to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.+1
- The technical aptitude: You are comfortable working with computer hardware and software, including understanding basic scripting, relational databases, or object-oriented concepts.
- The detail-oriented: You have the ability to manage complex sets of rules and group things in different ways to ensure total compliance.
- (Bonus) Industry experience: For senior applicants, specific experience with PCI compliance, functional flows of EMV applications, and ISTQB certification is highly preferred.
